Thrive! Don't Just Survive

Updated: Feb 20, 2019

Thrive! Don’t let self-worth or low self esteem keep you from living your life to the fullest.

Have you ever had anxiety just being you?

That might sound strange to someone that has never struggled with self esteem or self worth issues but it’s real.

I know what it’s like not to be comfortable in your own skin, trying not to fold your arms but still feel secure when you're out of your comfort zone.

I have struggled through decades thinking there was an external answer, something I could buy or achieve.

I thought if I earned a specific dollar amount or had the respect of others my feelings of being inadequate would disappear.

I even went as far as seeing a doctor who prescribed antidepressants.

The meds did help mask the symptoms so I could feel some relief, but it didn't solve the true problem. The relief came at the cost of feeling nothing. No highs, no lows. Just another day. I lost the spark that made life interesting.

Years later I decided I was ready to face the issues that stood in the way of my happiness.

My healing started with reading self-help books and trying to honestly fill out work sheets. That sounds strange but I did not know the root cause of my feelings.

I read books on everything even remotely related to how I felt. I narrowed it down to self-esteem, self-worth and toxic shame. Now I knew what the issues were and understood why I felt the way I did, but it didn’t help with my healing.

My path to healing turned out to be through the use of hypnotherapy. I was able to gain clarity on the origin of my feelings and release the emotional baggage which I had been carrying for way too long.

My transformation was gradual and internal. I now feel great joy in my life, this improved my relationship with loved ones and gave me the courage to pursue things that earlier in my life I did not feel secure enough to explore.

Hypnotherapy turned out to be my healing path. This form of therapy made such an impression on me that I enrolled In a clinical hypnotherapy program at SWIHA. I now am grateful to be able to support people in positive change through the use of hypnotherapy.
